TP, OS: multiple Ubuntu (Raring and Saucy) 64-bit
Any line I add ANYWHERE in the /etc/vmware/vmnet1/dhcpd/dhcpd.conf is removed upon any networking restart / etc. actions. Lines preceded by # are ignored.
This happens at the head or tail of the file with newlines in between.
All of the links I can find via Google point to VMware Fusion fixes. If this works on any other Linux install of VMware Workstation, I'm all ears. Try to make any edits to this file that aren't commented out with #, and try restarting.
I'm sure 99% of Linux users that would care about such things use VirtualBox, Xen, KVM, whatever, but it would be nice if this worked in my case. This is for an automation solution, and it would be nice to not require other users to install an in-distro dhcpd or dnsmasq.
What's the modern (Workstation 9 or TP), working way to deal with /etc/vmware/networking VNET_1_DHCP_CFG_HASH? Removing the line in a backup file and trying to load that doesn't work either; it always nukes any lines added to dhcpd.conf. I can't go back to older versions, because they don't work with any Linux distro made since the 1970s.
... or maybe it's a bleeding edge thing. I'll go back to the normal Workstation version if it's a new bug.
