The video refers to shared storage (a dedicated storage system) rather than local storage as in your case. What's LUN on shared storage, is a logical volume on your local RAID controller. However, some options - like RDM (Raw Device Mapping) - are only supported with shared storage. What you may do with local storage is to create VMFS datastores and place the virtual disks on them.
>>> What is "BBWC/FBWC"?
HP offers battery and/or flash backed cache modules (for G7 models it's FBWC) which allow the RAID controller to operate in Write-Back mode rather than Write-Trough mode. With Write-Back mode activated, write operations are much faster.
